Day Twentyone

The last couple of days have passed with brainstorming over the subject motivation, and possible product solutions. We have had a lot of discussions back and forth, and tried to convince one another to the different ideas.

We did some random brainstorm on positive and negative rewards, in an attempt to think different
Negative reward (we be evil!)

Positive reward

After getting some feedback from instructors and Tim, we've decided to move away from the kinect solution, and more towards an app instead. The main reasons for this are that a kinect first off isn't very mobile, so if you feel like doing the exercises somewhere else than in front of your tv, you simply cannot get immediate feedback. Another reason is that we are supposed to have a physical product, which is quite difficult because there isn't really a lot a kinect cannot do when speaking of physical movement. A third reason is that a kinect is quite heavy to start up, which can be a demotivational factor, since not everyone have the patience for that.

We have decided to make an app instead, which the users can install to their tablets or smartphones. At the physio therapist the user is going to be handed a knee bracer, which they can connect to their smartphone/tablet, and then do their exercises whenever and whereever they want. We are going to focus on somewhere between 1 and 3 exercises to start out with, to give ourselves time and space for making the mini-game and measure exercises and such.
